Gerald Ford…
Gerald Ford died today. Sad news, but he had a long and prosperous life. May he rest in peace. His death reminds me of a throw-away SNL clip with Dana Carvey…
James Brown May 3, 1933 – December 25, 2006

Sad news to report as the “Godfather of Soul” James Brown died last night at 1:45 am in Atlanta Georgia.
Brown was hospitalized with pneumonia at Emory Crawford Long Hospital on Sunday and died around 1:45 a.m. Monday, said his agent, Frank Copsidas of Intrigue Music.
Copsidas said the cause of death was uncertain. “We really don’t know at this point what he died of,” he said.
Jeremy Clarkson’s Ford GT Troubles
Great video highlighting the troubles experienced by Jeremy Clarkson and his Ford GT.
300 Movie Trailer
Nice use of NIne Inch Nails The Fragile album. The style reminds me of a take on the Flash Gordon movie from 1979. The gold masks are the key.
Myers-Briggs Personality Test
What kind of career is good for you? The Myers-Briggs personality test has been around since World War II and most have taken a variations of the is. I took one at a previous job where politics ran wild. A consultant was brought in to help all those in IT work together better. The end result was not much change until management fired a few trouble makers, but the test was interesting enough.
Here is one test on the web: “Are You a Programmer? Myers-Briggs Personality Type Test” By Peter Bromberg

Divorce Italian Style

The brilliant movie Divorce Italian Style (1961) is the movie where America first got to know Marcello Mastroianni.
Divorce was illegal in Italy up until the 1970s or so. So there weren’t many options to end a marriage up until then.
Ferdinando Cefalú(Marcello Mastroianni) would love to unload his demanding, sex-starved, monumentally unappealing wife, Rosalia (Daniela Rocca), but he can’t take the legal means open to his American counterparts. Ferdinando can, however, kill off his wife and receive a light sentence…provided he catches the lady committing adultery. The trick now is to make his plate-of-potatoes spouse attractive enough so that some other man will accommodate Ferdinando by cuckolding him.
Turns out that the Italian legal system would probably give a light sentence to Ferdinando Cefalú even if he did not catch his wife commiting adultery.
Italian justice system has lots of problems, first of all the most time consuming legal processes in Europe and the uncertainty of punishment. A famous Italian journalist ,Marco Travaglio, explained a worth example about this problems. More in detail he demonstrated how you can kill your wife (or vice-versa) without
spending a single minute in prison.
Details can be read here: How to kill your wife avoiding prison (In Italy) - I am in no way considering or encouraging anyone to kill or even harm your wife. This is for entertainment purposes only in reference to the “Divorce Italian Style” movie.
Viganella Mirror Project

Viganella is a small Italian town in the Apls. It is located in a valley between very steep mountains. The mountains are so steep that on November 11th, the angle of the sun is low enough that Viganella ends up in the shade for the rest of the winter. The Mayor Pierfranco Midali promised to bring sunshine to the small town of nearly two hundred inhabitants with a plan that seems to be the reverse of Mr. Burns’ failed plot to deny Springfield sun.

Mr. Midali is going to place a giant mirror on one slope that will reflect the sun down to the town. This mirror will relfect enough sunshine to allow five hours of daylight in the winter. That is five hours more than they had before. The cost of the mirror is around $100k which the tiny town will have to come up with. Here is your solution, tourism. The money made on small Viganella replica mirrors will more than pay for the cost of the mirror. I have to try and pay a visit to this town soon just to the how it works.
