Flying in the 60s

Flying wasn’t always about high security long lines and cranky stewardesses. There was a time when men were men and stewardesses wore short skirts and served drinks no matter how short the flight.
Because it was so expensive, flying was rare, and it was an “event.” The expectation was that you would wear a tie, or at least nice clothing, onto the flight. Anyone who had strolled onto an airplane in the 1960’s or early 1970’s in a sweatsuit, or ragged jeans and a tee shirt, would have caused a major buzz among the passengers.
Ah the good ol days, too bad I wasn’t born until 1971.
